Budget Air Compressor

    It's not much but I managed to piece together a fairly decent air compressor for less than $400. Got the 5hp motor and 120 gallon tank for free, and the compressor head from HF.
    It takes ~6 minutes to go from 100 psi to 150 psi. Not too bad. It will go outside eventually and there's already pipe ran through the building for air.

    For years before I knew onboard air was a thing, Dad's garage air compressor setup was homebuilt, with a York compressor hooked to an electric motor with a belt. Not sure what the tank was from. He painted a number of cars with it - just had to let it catch up now and again.
