Apparently my search skills are either lacking or no one here has done a write up on a slider restoration.
If you know of one, can you point me in the right direction.

Yeah, what is there to "restore" ? Looks like a little cleaning and maybe some lubrication is all they need.

That pic is not mine (I thought I had a pic of mine in the cloud but turns out I don't)
Specifically, I want to take them completely apart without damaging them. The goal is for them to look as they did from the factory as I am doing an as it left the factory restoration.
I looked at a couple of early C3 Corvette videos as the seat tracks are roughly the same. Appears to just require drilling out one of the retention dimples. Was mainly curious if anyone on here has taken these apart to restore so that I am not reinventing the wheel.

Not having done it before but looking at the picture, you might be able to flatten the dimples enough in a press to get them apart. A couple dies couple be made to put the dimples back in again with the press. It might be worth picking up some similarly constructed ones from a wrecking yard to experiment with.

I cleaned mine up pretty good without having to take it completely apart like you are talking about. Mine is different than yours, mine is out of my 71 and is completely original (see the picture below) Yours looks different, wonder if it was changed at one time. If yours locking part is the same, on mine the one thing I had to repair was the little part that goes in the slot that holds the set in the position you want. It was worn down and would not stay in the slot and so the seat would not stay where you wanted it to. I had to place some weld on it and then grind it back to the original size.

Mike, my attached pic is just a random one since I did not have a pic of mine in the cloud to attach. Mine is identical to yours and I will most likely be following the C3 Vette tutrorial I found as they function the same. I will be taking them completely apart and restoring. Will post up here on ECJ5 a how to with pics.
