I put on my clutch chain setup the other day. Kind of eyeballing it and also i have a brace on the frame that prevents me from going back any further in the frame to mount it.

It is a big chain and I can shorten it, but I want to make sure this is something that happened to others and is something that is kind of common to do to make it work in a CJ2a

My homemade kit used nbr 50 chain and a sprocket from Tractor supply, but was on my 56 cj5. worked great while twisted up on the trail. I would shorten the chain and see how it works for ya. My bracket was just before the crossmember but didn't require a brace.

I have one on my ‘66 CJ5. I might get a chance in the next day or two to see how close it comes to that bracket. I really like the clutch action with this setup.

I'm using the AA chain linkage on my 2a, but running a Buick 225 in front of the T90. I didn't have any interference issues. The chain is really close to the arm that comes off the trans crossmember for the brake pedal return spring (I think), but doesn't catch it or get hung up. Other than that, the bracket and everything bolted up just fine.
