The bracket that receives the bellcrank doesn’t look cracked but the cross member bottom plate is in multiple places and the 90 degree plate on top, that the rivets go through, is cracked and missing a piece. One of the previous owners thought it was a good idea to weld the bracket to crossmember to help fix this. Ugly weld job. Will try to load up the pics I have to show what’s going on. Why did they use a 2 piece crossmember in the first place. PO drilled holes all along back side and bolted it together to stop it from coming apart. I’m thinking of grinding off the ugly welds and taking bracket off that still has original rivets. Then maybe cutting off bottom plate and replacing it with a new piece the same thickness. Should I weld up all the edges on this new piece and fill in the holes they drilled . I’m not a welder, but hoping a friend of a friend might come take a look as he is a welder by trade. Hope these pics give you an idea of what I have. I have rebuilt the Gemmer box and drag link too

This sounds like a good plan....unless you want to go ahead & convert it to Saginaw steering!

That’s an example of why not to run oversize tires without upgrading components. I’ve seen cracks on the front crossmember around the bellcrank bracket, but never as extensive as what you show.
I would have a good welder/fabricator cut out the damaged areas, and weld back heavier new metal., or fabricate a whole new crossmember to remount the bracket.
As mentioned above, a Saginaw setup might be a better solution.

I have had a welder come and cut out 16 in of bottom plate and cleanup the mount. All putt back together now. I thought of the Saginaw box but I spent a lot of money rebuilding the Gemmer and if I went the other way , I would have to buy the box and mount and a new exhaust manifold . Here are pics of finished work A9425A81-2272-46B2-A3E4-DFF81FFF0FE3.jpeg A9425A81-2272-46B2-A3E4-DFF81FFF0FE3.jpeg DB498290-CDD3-4684-8020-3F2DD31AE8AC.jpeg
