I have a tailgate it just doesn't have "Willys" on it.

 

If it is still up next weekend, I can help you out. I'm about an hour and a half or so closer

 

I'm not too worried. I'ld still need to get it from you and then it's even farther than it is now.

 

I think that tailgate is a reproduction. There should be same some undercut edges in the upper right corner under the rolled top. The spot welded horizontal seam has a completely straight edge, where the originals have several notches in that seam.
Also, someone doesn’t know how to use a stencil.

I'd say its an original. The reproductions do not have the knockouts for the footman loops.
