The downside of owning that one is that it might kill my ability to call in to work due to bad weather
I have worked on and driven a couple of those. They bring new meaning to the term Armstrong steering!
Nice! Halftrack's are beyond cool looking.
Fresh OD paint makes anything look better than it is.
My supervisors know where I live and the building is less than a mile away... the car has been frozen solid and I rode my bike to work.
Looking at the front axle, it is one of those type that if you want to access the differential gears the axle would need to be removed completely from the truck so that it could be divided into to halves. Can you envision setting up the gear set!!
It looks like a Timken up front.
Did some of the very early jeep pick ups have an axle (timkin) with this design in the rear?
Yes they did but that's about all I do know about it.
Plus they would probably consider you as the taxi service for co-workers who tried to call in.
Ooh, that would be the worst
Just keep it old and unreliable. "wish I could make it in but the truck won't start, (too cold/ too hot/ too humid/ it caught a fire)
Yep, I have one sitting in my backyard if you'd like it! Supposed to be quite strong but impossible to get parts for...
No thankyou, I have one too now that I think about it. I have an old pu about a 50 something model in the woods at my moms old farm. I bought it for the F-134 motor it had back in about 1968. I paid 25 dollars for the entire truck.
Yup. If you cut down the long side tube to match the short side with some minor modifications they make some strong and stable jack stands. That’s what we used to do with them.
I have seen this Halftrack in person, it’s nice but not as nice as the seller’s other toys.
The Halftrack under the plastic is beautiful, from the quad50’s, original radios and much more wish I could get some better pics of it.
I'd think that would deserve something better than a rotted and ripped tarp... WTF?
10-4 Agree 100%
Very odd, some nice equipment sitting out in the open at a gas station in the middle of West L.A. ?
If someone has that many tanks and half tracks sitting outside, what's he got inside waiting for someone messing with his stuff
