Having to do my rear main seal. Just realize the amc258 motor mount blocks access to oil pan bolts. I've seen the 4.0 guys in line dropping there oil pans no problem. For future servicability would this mod work?

Seems unlikely. You mean the brackets that bolt to the engine? Some details might help. You should always include year/model/equipment in your posts.

Yeah, 81 cj7 amc258. I've seen videos on YouTube for rear.main seal change how tos. And the 4.0 engines are not impeded by this bracket. I've heard that 4.0 can be.swapped into any engine bay that has an amc258. As it sits id have to lift the engine to fully remove the pan...

The brackets are specific to the vehicle type, not the engine. The brackets on a 258 Wagoneer are different from the CJ, for example, even in the same year. There is a wild chance that some other applications may share the brackets with the CJ, but nothing indicates that. If they shared part numbers, then the XJ part would block the bolts the same as the CJ part. A revised but compatible part for the XJ would have a new part number.

Happy coincidence that the 4.0L is derived from the '81 or later 258.

There is a web site https://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/ with a forum "swapology" where this question might be addressed.

If it were me, I would assume that it's part of the price of the engine swap, and figure out a way to support the engine.
