Folks: I'm trying to find a generator I can use in rebuilding my '65 CJ5. A previous owners installed an alternator which is all well and good, but I'd like to go back to factory if I can do reasonably.

I figured some of y'all on here my know how best to get my hands on a core that I can rebuild, or one that is rebuilt and doesn't require a core exchange.

Maybe the core charge is just the cost of doing business, but I figured it was worth an ask.

    Thanks!

Welcome from Michigan, I have a Generator and a regulator. I am not sure if it is the one you are looking for. I don't see me ever putting it back on my Jeep, I will look for it today. If you don't find one I will consider giving mine up. I will get back with you, Good Luck, Rick

I found it, it is off a 64, F 134, it does not have an Autolite tag on it. It has the rubber bushings for mounting on the F134, and a double shive pully. I have a mounting shaft I made for it that allows you to slide it forward to used the front shive on the crank pully, I also have a set of new m rubber mounting bushings for it and a new regulator for it. It weighs 21 lbs. so it will cost a lot to ship it. I put alternators on both my motors, and bought a high output alternator for a backup. you can call me at 734 776 7659.

Rick - after much debating with myself, I've decided to go with a new alternator. In the event it ever goes bad somewhere, I am more likely to find a replacement. Thanks for looking for it. Perhaps another person will take you up on the purchase opportunity.

Both of my motors have GM one wire Alternators, I just kept the generator for the sake of it.
