Hello—I am in the middle of repairing the steering shaft from the column to the steering box. Have the u-joint, bell coupler, new boot for the column base, and new bushings for the column. While doing the column, I found that the steering shaft was bad, it was welded back together, and not very well. My column is Ok, and I have everything else ready to go, so hesitant to go another way at this point. If anyone has a steering shaft, let me know.

You need the inner column shaft for a 1972-1975 cj ?

Yes sir—the shaft in the steering column. I wasn’t positive on the year range for what is compatible.

Not exactly familiar with the 72-75 cj part.
Is that a solid shaft or hollow ?
And what’s the overall length ?
I would expect it’s solid like the postal DJ shafts.
Can you upload pics of the shaft repair ?

Here’s a pic of the shaft, but I was able to track down a replacement. Barney had one. He had them manufactured, so it’s a new one. I should be good to go.
