I am in eastern Washington near N. Idaho and NE Oregon. I have a 1968 CJ-5 that I have owned for about 18 years, and my grandpa and then dad owned before that about 15 years. Basically a 2 family vehicle, as my granpda got it from the original owner. Clean title. 98,000 original miles on the original 225 V6. This Dauntless has really lived up to its name, but I would personally plan on rebuilding this one within another 15-20K miles. One of the six cylinders was a bit lower on compression last time I checked.

Has an original Bonanza hard top, Bestop soft top in good shape, and a bikini top. Runs and drives well. Needs someone new to appreciate it, as I have barely touched it the past 7 years. Typical floor channel rust, but really a pretty solid body considering it's not been patched or repaired and has orginal paint, except where I primered the rear bed area. Engine has original valve cover decals, paint, and radiator fan shroud that you won't see on too many 60's 225 V6 CJ5's.

I changed things a bit over the 18 years and 25-30K miles I've had it, with a 2.5" lift, MSD ignition controller, DUI HEI distributor, Warn overdrive, rebuilt transmission and transfer case, larger 11" drum brakes on all corners, IPF headlights, 8K lb winch, 16" wheels with 235/85/R16 tires, roll cage, poly fuel tank, windshield fluid system, hi-quality carb, premium alternator, new fuel lines, and replaced clutch. Really proud of my $5 clearance plug-in heater that has been a reliable defroster for 18 years.

Includes a spare rebuilt T90, a few T90/T86 cases in good shape, and used T90/86 parts, plus a bunch of extra other parts that were original or are new spares. (Like orginal 9" drum brakes, etc).

I would like to sell the JEEP and everything to 1 buyer that will drive or tow it all away. Don't have time to list and sell parts, and really just want a good early JEEP'er to keep this one going.

Let me know if you are interested. The price will be very right <$5k for everything. Will email or text pics if you are interested, but ask that only people that will show up to take possesion contact me. I will not ship.

I've already got your Bantam and use it all the time. You're really making me want a third Jeep. Having seen the Jeep in person, it's a really nice solid rig.

I am very happy that you and the Bantam found each other ;) I am about to move into your building. I will be on the 3rd floor.

Ahh, you're one of the displaced folks due to your building getting demolished then. Your new temporary digs are a nice location on campus.

Here's the Bantam in use hauling fencing supplies (and dogs) literally two days ago:

Wow! If you weren't 2,400 miles away I would drive right over. :D

That is a very fair price on a decent Jeep, someone would snatch that up in a heartbeat around here.

    Mop,
What's up with the extra hood latch on the driver's side?
I don't believe I have ever seen that before.

You don't have to put any thought into it, although you must have, to come up with two possible reasons for it.
I'm just curious as to the actual reason someone would put an extra set of hood latches on.
Not losing any sleep over it, just curious, if that is okay with you.
Does any one have an idea?

Keeps the hood from rattling in the slotted hinges. My dad had those back in the day, kind of a vintage mod. I did it on my 3B to clamp it down better.

I know that feeling. My Daunltess Jeep rattles the heck out of the hood at idle.
