If you ever think a T90 looks wimpy, take a look at a T84
Hey now- My 41 Nash 600 uses a side shift T84. Yep, a T90 was a big improvement.
Wonder what the application was with the strange cross member and pedal
Also notice that it has a rear housing that bolts to the Texas pattern. Either came out of a 2WD vehicle or some sort of stationary equipment. I wonder if it would even work for a Jeep, the mainshaft might be different.
Thats an odd one for sure!! Looks to be a standard T84 with a 2wd adaptor on the back, bell house is stock for a L head. If it is truly NOS then its worth the price, but it does not appear to be so.
Too much grease and road grime to be NOS. Sure is a different looking one from the rear.
“New crate from 1943” is certainly misleading as this is obviously a take out assembly. That rear mounting assembly looks home built. Also, the attached pedal is mounted backwards, unless this was somehow mounted as a rear engine vehicle like a forklift.
FWIW it looks like it has some cosmoline still on it as if it was cleaned up to be installed. Whether or not it was is anybody's guess. The straight shifter looks like maybe for a forklift as Donny mentioned?
