I went to look at potential Jeep parts and found this welder in a barn. $20. Yea it's in my dining room. :)
    Hopefully, it will work again.

Back story: The guy I got this from had an old MB and used it to patch up the tub on it; after that, his dad used it in his radiator shop, and then it just sat in their barn since the '80s?
There was also a homemade high frequency tig welder there. It was super cool...built by a guy with a 7th grade education. It was said to have welded the frame on his dragster.

That is the EXACT welder I learned on, and what built the 3b. I can vouch for how heavy it is.

I don't know. Maybe? I have to wire up a new power cord and try to make some cables. If I find a wiring diagram or anything useful I'll post it up here for future reference.

One issue was finding welding plugs that'd fit this machine. A 3/8 plug is too small as the plugs in this machine start around .460" and taper down from there. A sharpie cap fit perfectly fwiw. I found a listing on ebay for vintage marquette welder plugs and they looked about right so I ordered them. Guess we'll find out if I was right or not.

I found another box of cable connectors from Century Tools (who bought Marquette some time ago) and they were the last remaining NOS on the shelf. The instructions are dated 1977.

I figure 25 ft. of #2 should be fine for this and I'll pick up a decent ground clamp and stinger. For the power cord, I was going to use ~10 or 15 ft. of 8/3.

It's been a hot minute since I burned a rod, luckily 7014 is fairly forgiving though.
