I need to pull the transmission tunnel floor pans (and modify them) in my '71 to prep for the 4spd swap.

However, a previous owner bed lined the inside of the Jeep right over all the seams and bolts for the floor pieces. Does anyone have any advice for removing the bed liner where I need to? I'd like to leave a clean edge around the floor opening if possible.

I was going to try a heat gun and a scraper.

I think a heat gun might cause a larger area to bubble than you want and a chisel could chip but be touched up.

I had to do a similar removal and I took a small chisel for my air hammer and ground it down so it was a right side blade so to speak and using alot of throttle/air control on the air hammer was able to "cut" at the seam and then use a stiff stiff scraper and tapped with a hammer all around the seam and it came up real good. I doesn't look like your bolts are too "gooped" up and those should come off good.

Would a dremmel tool with a cutting wheel work? Easy to control so you could cut through just the bed liner along the seam of the panels
