That’s absolutely wild. Do you still plow with the jeep?

I recently consulted the father in law about my f100 whether to just use the ports in the new aluminum radiator. He strongly suggested Daisy chaining it with the other derale cooler I had so that’s what I did. We’ll see how it works after the valve body is sorted….

This with an advertised 2400 B&M converter

I check over 13700 and i would stay away from it.
Tube cooler are not as efficient as stacked plate and fin.
    Imo tube cooler shouldnt exist.

    better with this one

No not anymore, still have the plow. With my engine swap last year i had to gave it at contract.
This year i decided i would have fun with the jeep and not be stress by breaking something and not being able to plow.

better to have a remote cooler imo

Richie, Do you have any trans cooler on the ‘75 presently, if so, what?
In my opinion, an automatic needs a trans cooler. I’m guessing you have a 700R4? Unless your crawling a lot, towing heavy, or plowing, the coolers in the radiator lower tank are more than adequate and should be simple to plumb as thats what most 700R4 equipped vehicles used. Does your radiator have cooler fittings?
You don’t need to re-invent the wheel.

Good point, I agree. I completely missed this one when I bought the other one. I know tube coolers aren't as efficient, but cash was tight, it was cheap right before a trip, and luckily the CJ isn't heavy. I'll absolutely keep it in mind when its time to upgrade.

Thanks, Donny, for this diagnostic advice. My tranny is indeed already plumbed to the right side of my 3 Core radiator. Very good lines & flow...... so I'm good to go with what I plan on using this CJ for. No rock crawling or plowing , with just a bit of possible light towing. Not long distance though. I reckon I was overly , ' older guy ' questioning this application by our planning to be using it more often, in a warmer area of the country ! Anything is warmer than up here in January & February....... not to mention the extreme overuse of road salt.

Only thing i dislike with buit-in cooler is they are more prone to heat transfert. If engine is overheating, it will overheat the transmission fluid.
