Buick V6. Engine Paint From Factory?

    I am cleaning my block up for a reseal and i noticed that i have the same engine paint on the flywheel.
    Did the factory paint the engines with flywheels attached? I am thinking not and at some point a previous owner rebuilt the engine and painted it with the flywheel on, or just gave it a quickly spray down with it on

    the boat block we got for the boy had the flywheel all painted, had never had a pressure plate on it .

    So I pulled it apart today. I think it was repainted before. The motor was definately had some work done to it. The head gaskets looked brand new and the inside did not look bad at all. so i am going to have head hot tanked and inspected while i have them off. I may run a hone on the cylinders.
