Dana 300 Disassembly

    I am adapting a 300 to an sm465 with an input gear in the case anybody got a pdf of how to to take the case apart to do so?

    If you just need to access the transfer case input gear, remove the 6 input housing screws and remove assembly from the front. Remove snap ring and remove the gear.
    Be aware there are two types of input housing screws. One is standard Allen head style which are generally easy to remove. The other is tapered countersunk, usually Torx. These can be a challenge to remove. Don’t be surprised if you have to drill the heads off at least a couple to get the input housing out.
