I'm a little confused. did some minor research but this appears electrical, not manually mounted on the back of the transfer case?

    Manually mounted to transfer case.
    Electrically controlled.
    Good for 2wd operation only.
Used on 2wd Willys wagons, Jeepsters, Pickups etc.
Adapted for 4wd by Rancho and others in the early 60's.
    Fell out of favor eventually.

I'm thinking this would be perfect on my fc? wonder if there is an issue with transmission being a side shift t90, vs a tower shifted t90? my fc is a pavement pounder/only fire roads.

It will work on a side shift T90 or any other tranny that will bolt to a Dana 18. The down side is that its only good in 2 hi.

    As mentioned it will work.
Buyer beware, some of the parts for these are getting difficult to find.
May have to buy a couple to put one good one together.
This stash is long gone, but it shows what some folks stashed to keep units running.

I’m not an FC guy, but isn’t the 150 on a CJ5 layout? The rear driveshaft might be a tight squeeze.

Looks more like a hydraulic push cylinder.

They had an electric kick down solenoid to take it out of overdrive when you either pushed in the clutch or hammered the gas to pass someone or climb a hill.

I ran an R10 in a Willys Wagon decades ago. They work OK, but are much more finicky than a Warn. There are electric solenoids and a governor, but are mechanically (cable) engaged.
They are really too long to use in a CJ5 or FC150.
Find a Warn OD and you'll be happier!
