I thought it would go for close to the 11K selling price. Top half was clean and the bottom just normally dirty. I was not a fan of black floor paint though. But the video of it running I thought was a good point. The six is always a hard one to make a call on. They are that relative in the room, no one talks to much. Thats probably why I like them so much. There was one a few months back that I didn't think would bring 10K and it went to 17K I think.

Nice! Glad to see an old 6 bring a good price. I think I've posted pics of ours before, but for those who haven't seen it, here's our '56 CJ6, it's a runner, recently had the carb (Scout Pilot) and distributor (Willys Dist.) rebuilt. That red one sure is pretty, but I like our custom paint job. :) Yes, those are Roxor wheels, take offs from a friend's vehicle.

Nice cj6 you have, looking forward to more photos.. I notice you have several chainsaws. Do you collect them? I have one of those old XL-12 Homelite saws I bought new about 45 years ago. Still works great I use it every fall for firewood.

Thanks! I really like the old Homelite saws, especially the XL-12 and later model SXLAO, also the Super EZ. I started gathering up old Homelite saws when I got into old Jeeps. Old Jeeps and old saws go together! Not sure how many I have, but it's a bunch.

You're an original XL-12 owner? That's awesome! The XL-12 was a revolutionary saw in it's day. Light and powerful. An old-time Homelite dealer from back then told me that the original Homelite designers worked in the basement of one of the engineers to create it. They worried about spies in the factory, so they worked off site to be sure that other manufacturers didn't see it until they were in production.

Good story, thanks for posting. I bought the XL-12 when I was in about the 10th grade in high school. A buddy and I cut firewood and sold it to raise money to fund our hunting and fishing excursions.

I think our old XL12 is still on the shelf in the shop up at Hatteras. We used that to clear a road through the woods back in the '70s. It got "retired" by a Stihl many years later.
