If you get chance, could you let us know about the shocks they include with the kit? Maybe the extended and collapsed length - especially if they seem to fit well with the kit. thanks

I cut the u-bolts with my air-powered cutting disk. Easy. Don't be shocked when they sever with a big bang.

It's caster, like the casters on shopping trolleys and serving carts. Casters have extreme negative caster angle, which leads to the characteristic flopping back and forth when you move the cart. Choppers have extreme positive caster angle, which leads to the tremendous stability that makes them comfortable for long distances (ie hands-off in Easy Rider).

Castor is a poisonous bean that they get ricin and castor oil from, Greek/Roman god and a constellation (Castor and Pollux, Gemini the twins), and the genus for beavers.

It goes on the topside of the spring. The recess is cut for the pin to sit flat.

The front is to the right. Put clamps on both sides of bolt prior to removal to keep leaves together. Remove the center bolt to include the caster shim.
The axle will sit above the shim. The shim is sandwiched between the spring pack and axle.

problem 2, the crosspin sits below caster shim. instructions say if they are below the caster a longer one is needed. where do you order them from?

Go to the hardware store and pick up some Allen head bolts that are long enough to go through the caster shim and spring pack. They should be 5/16” dia bolts. The head size is perfect for locating the axle. Next grab a couple washers for 1/4” bolts. They should fit into the machined flat spot on the shim.
Give me a mini and I’ll have a pic for you.

I used 2 washers under the head on mine. Depending on the thickness you may only need one. I drilled the 1/4” washers out to 5/16”.

works out good, had to run to the hardware store to replace the locknuts that mount the leaf springs to the frame/shackle.

Probably not a concern with the stock spring pads, but make certain that the head of the centering bolt doesn’t protrude too far and bottom out against the axle tube.

lift installed. pouring rain so I can't try it out, but I jumped up and down all over it, its stout and soft and stiff at the same time. no instructions came with it, but its pretty self explanatory. follow up report to follow. wish I measured the before and after height. project creep....wife said I need bigger tires now (running 31's).
caster shims didn't come with much for instructions, so thanks guys for the quick tips.

overall I hope it stays level, unlike my crappy rancho lift kit I put on the 62 last year that now say's 3" down on the driver's side :n:
