Dave I used 18" napa hose PN 36761. I like them better than what came with my disc brake kit.

Thanks guys. I'll have to see where the R&P bracket positions the caliper but I can't imagine it's much different from any other. It's a project for late winter or next spring. We'll see.

Now I feel like I've hijacked the thread a bit. I'll be on my way. Thanks again.

I may have missed this on this thread, but the last two pics of this post show the bearing cups or races still in place in the knuckles. How did you remove them? Mine are very firmly seated.

IIRC, I drove mine out gently with a tapered brass drift

I have my knuckles spot faced. I cannot find specs for what torque to install the bolts. Is that important or just make them darn tight?

I used permanent thread locker and whatever the fsm called for as bolt to knuckle. It doesn't need to do anything more than hold the bolt head in contact with the spot faced area the threads tension should balance each other within the casting and the thread locker keeps it from spinning.

James, thanks a bunch for making this thread. I already had verything stripped down with the knuckles off for other reasons when you suggested studding them. The bit you suggested from McMaster Carr cut like a sharp hot knife in butter and all of the machining took about 10 minutes.

I checked the FSM before posting my last question about torque specs but couldn't find it. I'm pretty green, but trying hard! I looked under steering, front axle, and brakes sections. Seems like this would be the torgue used for the bolts that hols the drum brake backing plate into the knuckles, correct? Any advice is appreciated.

In the back of the book, in the misc section. Brake Backing Plate Bolts, 25-35 lb/ft.
