Are you asking who to contact or trying to buy a title from a member?

Who to contact, I just hate to see the vin plate get scraped due to not having a title and that vin being lost for ever.

    Look at registering in Vermont.

I'm sort of in the same boat. I've had my jeep for many many years now, but the vin number was under lots of coats of paint when I titled it, and it was before the internet, so I didn't even know where to find the vin! When I titled it, I used the engine number, which doesn't match my v6 swap.

I know my vin is clear, but I'm trying to figure out if it's easier to deal with Virginia's dmv, or Vermont. There's a company that will do all the work for you too if you want (can't remember the name of it).

There is a company that will help you do this, the one I used got me a title for a Model A from Vermont. Cost around $400 IIRC. Wouldn't use them again. The process is easy and can be done by mail. Titled an old trailer that way. Just gotta fill out the forms. Vermont will send you a title. Have to pay sales tax based on Book value. If the book doesn't have your vehicle they will use the Bill of Sale value.

    Thanks.

The reason I asked is because of forum rule:
15.d No classified ads for paper titles are permitted. Wanted To Buy (WTB) or For Sale ads for a titles will be deleted.

Vermont does not title vehicles over 15 years old.
If you want to register it, you need to have the VIN verified by the State Police if "the vehicle was previously titled or registered in another state".
If all you have is the tag, prolly not gonna happen.
If someone says they can get you a VT title for that VIN plate, just send me your $$$. Either way it'll be gone.
