2 hole knuckle is for the RH (passenger) side. Makes it easier to install Saginaw steering, and reduces steering effort (for manual steering) regardless of which type of steering you have.

I installed a double knuckle on my last 3B build.
My Ross steering ratio went from a 14/1 early standard to effectively become a 25/1 ratio which is equivilant to the jeep manual saginaw box.

Plus you eliminate the standard split tie rods which greatly increase the chance of death wobble.

FWIW ….To use the double knuckle on any narrow D25/27 you will need a tie rod measuring 38-1/4” oal.

Appreciate the measurement. Will be stoked to improve the steering (and easier alignment).

isn't 38-1/4" a bit small for a tie rod? or do you mean the thing between the knuckle and steering box (what i thought was known as a drag link)

I think the 38-1/4” refers to the length between the inner tapered eye on the passenger side knuckle and the tapered eye on the drivers side knuckle. On the original Ross steering setup there is no rod that directly connects the two knuckles. Hence, the “death wobble”. virtually all vehicles made after the 1960’s have this direct connection side to side. The “tie” rod. Which helps insure that both front wheels are heading in the same direction.

Here’s a pic of my 1953 3B with Dana 25 front axle assembly with the double hole passenger knuckle.

Note that the “tie rod” is the rod that “ ties” the two knuckles together.
    It measures 38-1/4” OAL.
Add approx 3” more to that to include the length of the TRE’s.

This is what Willys should have done from the factory. They even had the 2-hole knuckle on the Wagons.
I used to convert to a "1 piece tie rod" by using the center TRE with the second taper, moved over to the right side. A 2-hole knuckle is even better.
