Mounted the calipers on the D30 tonight. My rims are slightly interfering with the allen head nut that keeps the tension dealy-bob in place on the caliper bracket. Anyhow - how much clearance should I be looking for. Can I go after the head of that sucker with the grinder (it's a shoulder bolt, so I don't think I'll be weakening it any - or should I be looking for new rims. I need new rims someday - just trying to defer expenses.

    Thanks for any input.

Curious, Bob; can you tell just where it's hitting? When I put my 11 inch drums on, I no longer had enough clearance, but it was only at the shoulders of the reinforcement notches in my stock wheels. Fella I bought my brake kit from told me to use a BFH and knock down the corners of the notches. I did; that gave me all the clearance I needed. Barely noticable, really.

All rightey, then! Any way to modify the mount to accept a flat head countersunk to gain a little clearance?

There's a chance you could just grind the bolt - it's the one with the allen head right?

Also, you may consider the cheap wheel spacers - the ain't pretty but may do the job for the short term. NAPA, 1/4"? thick.
