So it's fall, are you still considering a conversion van, or are you keeping the toyota? Update on that front?

    Yes.

    LOL.

Gonna stay in a holding pattern unless or until the Toyota pukes. The minivan is just too handy living in an downtown apartment complex whereas a fullsize van would be less so. And we're still not sure what our next life adventure is.

Just ordered one of these Alternator Chargers from Ecoflow. It's basically a DC-DC converter that connects to your vehicle battery and routes higher-wattage power to your house battery. If your alternator can take it, up to 800W. I'll probably limit it to half of that - which will still be about 3X what our 200W solar panel provides under ideal sun. Since we tend to only stay places a couple nights at most, this will help charge the battery faster when driving. We could possible get away without any solar panels at all, but having one on the roof isn't taking up any space I'd use for something else.

The Alternator Charger will also route power back to the vehicle battery either in maintenance mode or charging mode if needed. alt-charger.jpeg

New solar panel is DOA, still dealing with that. Had to send pictures of it not working....
