I want to make sure I’m ordering the correct replacement alternator. Hopefully this makes sense. Looking at the 37 amp economy reman units due to my budget. Autozone says I need Duralast 7429, which their website says is 37 amp. But the connector blades for the connector don’t look to be oriented the same as mine in their pic. Rock Auto lists 7429 and 7427. Rock Auto’s 7427 appears to have the connector blades in the right orientation for my plug (90 degrees to each other). Rock Auto’s 7429 blades don’t seem to be set up the right way for my stock connector in some of their pictures online for some of the reman brands but they are for others. Also, 7429 is listed as a 55 amp on Rock Auto in some of the offerings as opposed to 37 amp on Autozone’s website. Just wanted to get a more experienced opinion. I attached a picture of mine with the blades I’m referring to circled.

Looks like a Motorola crapploa alt.. I replaced mine on my 304 with a Delco alt.. Unless you want to be period correct, I would not use another motorola. This also got rid of the external volt reg.

It is indeed a Motorola. SHould be a 4489410 RockAuto

Remove the black plate from your old alternator and put it on the new one, if it does not have it. That will give you the two tabs at 90 degrees that you are expecting. It's a ground, and conducts through the screws to the case.
