I'm not getting any younger so the step was important. Spent a few extra $'s but worth it.

Dragging this back up. Did you have to get new shocks when you added the spacers? Heading to the Shaver lake area in Aug and looking at lifting my TJ 1.75" to 2"

I did not change the shocks when I added the coil spacers. We wheeled it a lot and never felt the need to change shocks. I never felt like the shocks were preventing the axle to drop out, or kept me from stuffing the tire in the fender. With the sway bar disconnected we had good articulation. I do kind of miss that Jeep. It drove great on the highway, and with the air conditioning blasting could be driven anywhere in comfort.

Guess I better start my search for that too. I found 1.75" and 2" lift pucks for a decent price.

Purchased the 1.75" spacers and picking them up today. Also bought 12mm bolts to make a poor man sway bar disconnect. Pics after install.

After a lot of hard work and the purchase of a spring compressor I was able to get the 1.75" lift pucks installed. I should have measured before and after. It looks a little taller to me but hard to tell. It definitely seems to ride a bit harsher. I'll get a few pics later. When I am out next week I will see if the tires still rub the flares. Now to try making the cheap sway bar disconnect.

You may want to consider some adjustable upper front control arms while at some point. These 4 link setups can be finicky about proper geometry, particularly caster. Does it still track well like it did in stock form?

Still drives well and straight. I haven't had it over 40 but will this weekend.

Pic of minor lift. I'll find out this week if it helped. It does look a little higher compared to my avatar pic.

Jeep did great, no fender rubbing. I disconnected the sway bar also. I drove it back down the mountain and did really notice a difference with it not connected. Only hit 1 semi rough trail but very impressive. I still need to get used to the auto. I definitely miss the SM465 gears.

Hopefully I will be getting some funds for my bday and Christmas. I "need" to make a couple of modifications. On our Moab trip the transfer case shifter kept coming loose. It was an easy fix but definitely a PITA. I found out this is a common problem and is easily solved by this: SAV-241S - Transfer Case Cable Shifter Kit for the NP 241 - Savvy Off Road
The other item is a roll bar kit of some kind. I'm sure the stock roll bar would be ok in a slow tip but I want to beef it up a bit. There are a bunch of kits out there so I just need to figure out how much I can afford.
I was also working on a home made sway bar disconnect. I actually disconnected it at Shaver Lake and have never hooked it back up. I will leave the sway bar in place and just take all attachment points off.
