Just wanted to make a quick post about my experience installing the Holley Sniper 2gc on my rebuilt dauntless V6.

(To preface) this was my second sniper install so I had a general understanding of what quirks these systems have as well as what components are usually required to make them run.

I purchased kit #550-866 which is not the master kit. This style does not come with rubber fuel hose or filters. I ordered this style since I was already familiar with what components the master kit came with, and since I was installing the rear tank and in-tank fuel pump it seemed redundant to have an extra external fuel pump especially since I have a spare from my previous build.

I installed Holley's crank sensor #554-124, this attached to a custom fuel pump block off plate that I made. I also utilized the 3 bolts through the harmonic balancer spaced 120° apart as discussed thoroughly on this forum. During this time I also installed a 15 gallon rear fuel tank with a Holley in tank fuel pump #12-307.

I originally used a half inch plastic carb spacer to attach the sniper to the original intake manifold. I eventually replaced this with an aluminum spacer as I had trouble with the quality of the plastic one. As of right now I have 2500 miles on this setup. (Both spacers were purchased off eBay)

The biggest issue I had was the initial tune was excessively rich which caused me to chase possible exhaust/vacuum leaks. After having little success finding any, I eventually purchased the adapter to hook up the ECM to my laptop. Once I received this adapter I would drive approximately 10 miles then upload the learned fuel table. After 30 miles or so I had my AFRs within an acceptable range. I have my idle maybe a tad rich at 13.2 but that's where it seems to idle the smoothest, wide open throttle is set to 12.5 and cruise is set to 14.7. As stated above I have 2500 miles on this setup and aside from the cheap plastic spacer I haven't had any serious issues. I measured my fuel mileage earlier this week verifying my mileage with a gps, I was averaging 17.4 miles per gallon on my 42 mile round trip commute. Average speed was around 55 mph. This has been the best recorded fuel mileage so far.

Realistically 15-16 mpg is more achievable. One thing I did adjust is the Accelerator Enrichment vs Throttle Position Rate Of Change, I adjusted this to be less sensitive. The reason I had to adjust this is I am still running the original accelerator pedal and on bumpy roads the pedal would bounce around causing TPS confusion. My air fuel ratios would be constantly going rich to lean trying to compensate for the erratic pedal movement. I also installed an HEI distributor at the start of this endeavor.

Overall I have been really pleased with the function and performance of both my sniper kits. I really notice the seat of the pants power difference in the jeep. I can pull grades and maintain speed in 4th gear at less than a quarter throttle. And fuel economy has improved from when I had a carburetor, although with more power I want to romp on it a bit more......

For reference my cj has the fuel injected dauntless v6, sm420, dana 18, 3.73 gears and new 31" tires
