Working on 2 axles on opposite ends of the spectrum. I think I could almost fit the whole Dana 30 carrier inside of the sterling carrier.

Well, I kicked the tire. I took the YC7 to my clubs picnic. Drove it 40 miles at 65-70 mph, pulled under a tree. It stalled, I was thinking didn't push the clutch in fast enough for third gear. Restarted, moved it ahead. after lunch, I prepared to leave, crank no start. After trouble shooting under the tree, no spark. enter AZ...e, $85 dollars later(module and coil), no start. After exhausting diagnostics with the equipment I had available, no DVM to be seen(SBC/Qjet/HEI), I caught a ride home. I'm returning tomorrow to continue the adventure. suspect the pole piece(pick/up coil). Stay tuned boys and girls for the climatic finish, I have a buddy's truck and trailer in standby for Tuesday. To Be Continued, Ron

Greased up the rear wheel bearings last week (had to buy one new tapered hub).

Today I greased the front wheel bearings so I should be good to go for the rest of the summer.

Well I forgave her. The pole piece(pick/up coil) in the distributor was bad. Suspose to be 800-900 ohms, read out @ 6.5 Mohm's, 3.5 K to ground. Swapped distributor with a spare, and IT lives again.

The sound of a D18 at highway speed is not something that I miss.

    Ear plugs.
Here's what it was like before the 4.27 axles... at half the speed. I could not drive it for the noise.

    Changed the fan belt
Runnin some errands in the cj5 this morn and noticed it didn’t want to idle very well. Checked it out when I got home. Found it
    Fan belt starting to shred.
Notice the missing hose from the vacuum advance canister. I’m sure the strings grabbed the hose.

Worked on the 53 A1. Finally, back will let me bend over the fender.
Radiator back in new fuel lines in, lost one radiator mounting bolt. Will find it next time. Just needs buttoning up. Front axle seal bolts are loose on left side. Then to see if it will crank. Slow progress, but progress just the same.

Not my Jeep specifically, but I finally got around to putting my C02 tank together today. Got the tank from a buddy a few months back and after buying one el cheapo regulator off Amazon that I didn't like, i sent it back and got a different one with dual gauges....cost about $100 but seems to work great .
Oh and I discovered that I never aired back up from my last 4 wheeling trip...I've been driving around on 8 psi since October!
    20250525_111328.jpg

Now I just have to figure out a place to mount it in the CJ.

Getting ready for Windrock next weekend. I installed new Bilstine shocks Friday. Struggled with some crap in my eye all day Saturday. Then today I changed out my mostly broken engine mounts and today. Also swapped the old leaky headers for new Headman Headers from Summit.

Really sloppy job extending the exhaust ahead of the muffler.

All done and putting the wheels back on I noticed it’s moving a lot around the bearing or hub. Though it was a loose or cracked hub but turns out I somehow broke an axle shaft.

Been a while since I've posted. Parting out an old D25, a bit crusty on the outside but in terrific shape inside.

Knuckles are soaking in the parts washer. I'll be selling off the tie rods, drag link, pitman arm and bell crank which are still good and tight. I have no use for them since M38A1's use different sized parts. I'll keep the Spicer axle shafts...They are interchangeable and stronger (IMHO) than Bendix or Rzeppa shafts. So that's what I did to one of the jeeps today!

Awhile back I scored this Tuffy console (made for a Samaurai ) on marketplace. With a few mods it fits well in my Commando.
