Blustery today. Took the day off. Deep water fording kit I got recently for the A1. Some of the bits and pieces. Exhaust first.....
NOS parts which always make me happy....Came with an extra flange gasket.

A friend bought me a Christmas present a little while ago. Nice no to have to lay on the snow. Thanks Andy....

Bolted up the flange. Perfect match. The muffler is a repro from DeBella and was pleasantly surprised that it matched up like from the factory. Used stainless bolts for future sanity.

The bracket is somewhat in the right place....[IMG]
    I like it.

Onto the intake side tomorrow if it's not too cold. Warming up in the shop.

What diameter is the intake hose?
Get lots of pictures of the windshield brackets and hose end? Is There any Prefilter?

Started to make a high steer bracket for a Dana 30 a while back. The project evolved to 1 tons over the winter so had to finish this up today so I can make room in the garage. Maybe use it on another project.

Bout 20 outside so I found something to do in my shop this morn.
Salvaged this light from the old hardtop for my cj6.
    upload_2025-3-3_11-37-22.jpeg
put in an LED bulb so it doesn’t get too hot
    upload_2025-3-3_11-38-26.jpeg
and now it’s so bright that I had to put a shade on it
    upload_2025-3-3_11-39-36.jpeg
    works for me

I put LEDs in the visors on the 'burb, and am about ready to go back to incandescents. You can hardly stand to look in the mirrors.

Repositioned the tarp on this year’s project before it rains tomorrow. If anyone is interested in the custom front axle amc20 swap or the premium lift blocks let me know.

    Not today but last week.

CJ was running poopy. Felt like 5 cylinders. Turns out I was close.
Cylinders 7 and 6 had the electrodes closed. 20250217_105644.jpg

    20250217_110456.jpg

I bought eight new plugs. Cylinders 5, 7, 6 & 8 are no fun to reach particularly with power brakes and a dual battery tray.
    20250217_110849.jpg

Did a compression test. Nothing to be proud of. Remember, this is a '79 engine with 98k+ miles.
    20250217_162443.jpg

Then trial fit my ebay air cleaner to eliminate the Moroso 360° air cleaner.
    20250218_103619.jpg

Will connect to here for cooler air with flex hose I bought from Collins Bros.

OK, have to ask, were the plugs installed like that or did something (pistons?) close that gap???? Maybe you should shine a light down the spark plug holes on those cylinders while you bump the engine over manually.

Something smacked the electrodes shut. So far so good with new plugs.
With power booster and battery tray, it's a physical impossibility to look down the holes.

I used a random equipment bracket out of a HMMWV (I had it sitting in the extra metal pile) to make a battery tray and then relocated the batteries from my cowl battery box into the engine bay.
