Sorry. I know my Ford 302 uses them, they say it helps to protect the block if the flywheel/clutch comes apart. I don't think the Buick V6 uses them.

Replaced the original transmission shifter boot on my T-86 (new boot works for the other floor mount cane’s too)

I'll try to document it in my thread. I've never done anything like it before, so it's a bit intimidating. The pace that I work could be considered "glacial".

Been a busy few days and traveling the weekend starting tomorrow so I took a couple hours before work today to make some progress on the Jeep.

Installed exhaust, starter, Lower bellhousing cover and alternator. Hooked up wires to Oil, O2 and temp sender. Straightened out some wiring.

Are you going to run outside the frame headers on the Holy cross trail?

    Yesterday after work
    Primed oil pump, flowed well.
    Bolted on mufflers
    Got TDC and installed distributor.
Heater bypass and little Z hose installed.

Looks like all that’s left is to reinstall Holley Sniper and front grill/radiator stuff.

I decided to un reverse my reverse shackles and put the front end back to stock. I reversed them when i installed new springs and really didnt notice a difference in the ride. I didnt like how it made the springs sit at more of an angle with the added height of the shackle at the back. and it set the axle farther back too so i had to cut a bit off the end of the driveshaft. So its back to stock now

I tune my Jeep thru the ECM. The ALDL connector was worn out & frustrating me at all the wrong times . Installed a new one today.
ALDL connector.jpg Received this 'Old School ' scan tool today after a 10 month wait & search on Ebay. $80 Complete with a CD rom for my PC.
AutoXray 6000 & Boost Gauge.jpg The 'Boost' gauge at the top of the pic is the next install. :bananatool:

..... It's good to be back at it.....but it's back to winter after tonight

I read you & Thank You very much for closin' the Barn Door after the Horse got out .

As a Shade tree mechanic such as myself........ I do need to think more about the super EPA required Restrictive air Cleaner assembly's of the 80's era.
' Till then , for the $22 invested, it will run pretty well , consider'n it's just gonna run @ 'Richies Pretend Dyno' in my SubZero shop, waiti'n 'till , oh let's say .....NEVER , for the Municipality applied Road Salt to get down to the level that this current K&N set up will allow.
It's too bad that this guy didn't test my RG-1001RD, though ? Oftentimes it's the 'Ol " Apples to Apples type thingie".
And..... Even though the Corporation claims that they are made in The USA , however, They do lie like pritinear every other Company that's makes their stuff in a foreign Enemy Country.

They are also " The Official Air Filter of NASCAR. Trusted on the racetrack " ....... So'es Iz got dat goin' for me.

Have I acknowledged that lately, some of you guy's have been very blatantly 'Piling on' ? It's Unsportsmanlike, IMHO.
Any unbiased opinion on the Scan Tool ????? Just curious.

I Simply was replying to the threads title.....But, thanks , Anyway

I need to find a place out of sight for my ALDL plug. Maybe splice in a switch to not need a paperclip.
