I guess you are all correct. I did also remove the starter this evening. Thanks.
This is an ongoing Mystery. If a '76 -up side panel was used ( in which I highly doubt ,by the build pic's) , would the inside spare tire mount braces be there ???
Mine are , just the Bow Pocket indent is missing on that side ???? It's not body filled in , either.
My question would be this : Did they offer the side mount option in '76-up ?
Second question first - Yes, side mount was standard for the CJ-5 '76-up. Solid back panel was optional.
The parts book shows the same picture for all CJs of the sheet metal in this area, '74-80. The interior braces were part of the replacement inner fender house for these bodies.
Thanks Tim, They must of used that later panel , for some reason that I've been oblivious to. It's all metal, no filler , in that area. Anyway ,That's my winter project , so I was just stumped on the missing bow pocket . Happy Holidays.
Seen on a local Jeep for sale... what are these windshield latches? They look nice.
Made by advance adapter. Pretty solid, IMO. Ron
AA windshield latches. 72 bucks a set if I recall. but well worth it. I love them enough I put em on both my jeeps.
What are these two tubes for? I obviously cleaned them up and painted them black but....can't remember where they go?
Battery tray supports I believe
Do they go below the tray down to the firewall?
Yes & the Fender
This is the outter one that attaches to a fender bolt:
And this is the inner one that attaches to the toe-board brace:
I'm still working on putting together a 69 CJ5 basket case. I'm working replacing the floors and the center section has a hole that I can't find the reason for.
Can someone let me know what this hole is for?
For the PTO lever to stick through the floor if the Jeep was equipped with PTO. Otherwise there was a square cover screwed there from the factory.
I went out and took a picture of the (dirty) factory block off plate in '69:
What are these two rods? Are they part of the fold and tumble passenger seat?
They look like handles for a bottle jack. Small one goes in the big one for more leverage.
X2. Look like bottle jack handles.
I have the same ones for a gray 6 ton bottle jack...
