If I get an R&P dual master cylinder kit for the A1, will it interfere with running a PTO shaft through that area? Anybody have any experience there?

I haven't put the winch in yet nor even put in the PTO. But I'll see the R&P guys at the swap meet in a couple weeks and can have them bring down an extra kit with them. Just have to know if the PTO shaft will interfere with the installation.

I'm running a Koenig PTO winch and have more room now with the conversion than I did before. My pto winch is not in the stock location however. I can try and take a pic tomorrow or Thursday if you want.

I don't have R&P's kit but I am using the same Willwood master cylinder they use, my experience echoes Nick's- there's more room with that MC than there is with the stock one. FWIW I have a PTO going to the front for a Ramsey winch & there's plenty of room.

Thanks for the replies. Pics are always good, Nick, though it sounds like there won't be any problems with it.

To add some detail, The Dana 18 is in the original position and the jeep still has the original Ross steering. I'll be using a Ramsey PTO. I'm not sure of the model # on it, but it's for the CJ (not trucks and wagons) and has both the front and rear keyed shaft at the lowest point on the case. The winch is a Koenig 100. It's the lower slung version. Like I said, neither PTO nor winch has yet been mounted. I want to mount the winch so that I can also put a manual Saginaw box in there in the future if I give in and make that mod.

Now that I think about it, going with a Saggy swap will probably give me even more space for the PTO driveshaft.

I don't think losing the rossbox or draglink will help much but getting rid of the bellcrank is probably going to make life a lot easier for you.
