    Good Morning everyone,

I got a question that has been beat by a dead horse.... :dead horse:

for the Saginaw Steering swap, does anyone have pictures of where they routed the exhaust after switch to a rear dump exhaust manifold on the Buick 225?

specifically, if its routed within the frame rails, I am having a hard time seeing if there is enough room with the clutch linkage/brakes and such.

I know I could just loop it under the frame and then put mufflers on the outside of frame, but am wondering if its possible to have everything within the space of the frame. Reason being is I already have part of my exhaust under the frame rail from previous owner and its all ready been crunched several times...

the only pictures I am finding are of headers that exit outside of frame rails, or exhaust manifold that exits next to block that goes outside of frame rails then back in.

    Thank you,

Commando's used both right and left rear dump manifolds along with the Saginaw steering system.
Commando's used a "Y' pipe to connect the RH and LH sides.
The Commando "Y" pipe converges just behind and just below the longer (1 piece) bellhousing.
For a CJ you may need to converge the two pipes a little farther foreward; like just below the middle of the bellhousing.
The exhaust pipe extension will need to go over the intermediate crossmember on the LH side of the transmission and underneath the clutch control.

    Thanks oldtime,

that helps, I kinda was able to picture that and put at ease knowing jeepster ran a simuliar set up.

I was also able to find a picture on another website too, that showed there is room with that stuff.

now to find the parts. :)
