okay, so while i'm preparing to swap radiators I stumbled upon people running a coolant filter.

my question is has anyone done this? what are the pros by this and cons

my reasoning for running one is cause I got stuff in my coolant passages and would hate to mess up a new radiator.

    i'm coming up with
Tefb (T E F B A)a Radiator Filter (I like this one cause you can clean it without draining)
    gano filter

    would like your guys opinions

    Just a thought...

back in the day my grandpa used muratic acid run thru the radiator with the top off while the engine was idling.

    1) you need to first drain out the coolant.
    2) I don't know if your current setup can handle the acid bath internally without sprouting leaks
    3) very caustic and you don't want it splashing back out of the radiator in your face.

i don't remember what the dilution was for this.

the we ran arm and hammer solution thru it a couple times.

flushed it several, times until clear at bottom hose.

i found a reference similar, see post 7 here...

    Thanks,

I have tried the vinegar before and several flushes.

I'm not sure what the extent is? The passages on timing cover to block where clean. But intake passages where really bad.

I will look into that chemical. I'm on my phone at moment.

I would be worried about leaks too.

Never ran a coolant filter, but I think it wouldn't hurt.
