I am trying to decide between 1" or 2.5" lift. This forum has been great for helping me out with visual examples :). Can some of you guys give me examples of what each looks like? I am planning on running stock rims on my 67 CJ :hurrican: .

    Tks

If you are going to get replacement springs, go with 2.5". I did and don't regret it at all.

I will try to post some pics when I get home.

It was repainted by the PO. Not sure what color for sure. It might
be Omaha Orange. In Testors model paints it's a basic red. I have
been using that color for touch ups. It's pretty close.

Hey guys when I do a yahoo photo search I see thumbnails of the photos on this page and there are some cool ones but most of them are missing. Would you guys mind reposting your pics? I'd like a little lift with stock looking wheels and some tall skinny aggressive tires. I'm afraid of making my low range even worse (it's not low enough) with bigger tires though.

    Thanks!

No Jeep pics here, but these are the "tall, skinny, aggressive" tires that I plan to use. At least I want to see some in person first, and I've got a set located. They're called Grip Spurs, and sold at CO-OP stores. I've heard good things here about them. Made of damnedhardtofindium.

Same tire, but this is a 9.00x16 truck size.

I'd go 1-1.5 superlift springs. still looks stock but can fit a 31-32" tall skinny on. can always add a little more with some longer shackles.

Love that Jeep! But I am partial to Orange.

What seats/seat frames/seat belts are you using there?

Those rims look mighty cool too.

Got any better pics of your cage? I'm looking for ideas.

    Sorry for the hijack!

Seats are Corbeau's (Moab), back seat is a Trail II by Besttop, seat belts are Corbeau's also, 3 point harness. Frames for the seats are Corbeau also with some modification as my tank still sits under the drivers seat. My dad bought this brand new in 1967, been in the family since. Here are some before shots (was sitting for 20 yrs in his barn) and after shots with some better ones of the cage. The cage is original also, the back mounts to the tub fenders, the front runs all the way down along the dash and mounts to the floor of the tub.

    Panzer,

In your "before" pic, are the front shackles stock? What should the stock length be on a 69? Mine are 4 3/8" and look about like the ones in your pic. I did not think mine were stock.

They were the same shackles. I swapped them out first and
used the original springs. Then I upgraded to 1" over stock
springs. The tires are 31". IIRC the shackles were 1 1/2"
tall and but were actually about 5/8" lift.

I went with Nat'l tire and wheel's 2" special, which was the superlift 2.5". I am running 31*10.5s because they were cheap used. I get lots of compliments on the stance.
