Pull the transfercase shifters off and take the shift tower off the transmission. Make a cover for the transmission. You might find an alignment...
My little flex has 3.5 nonturbo the Expedition has 3.5 twin turbo. The non Turbo with 4500 lbs scoots. The Turbos with 5500lbs and a jeep in tow...
