I used the Skyjacker springs, (soft) 2" on my 71 CJ5, they are nice and I have no qualms about them.
I know that is a great set up that Howard has done. And here is the but, you have it all apart now and you have talked about hanging pedals, now...
I have the old set I took off my 69, they are pretty much shot, but you can have them, to do a mock up to see if you want to go that route.
Hollow out those nubbies and make them suction cups, think of the rock crawling you could do!(y)

I don't think the DB would by that bad a route. You could make your own frame...You certainly have the skillzzzzzz!
You may want to contact, Mike at Rapco Parts Company the last time I spoke with him, he mentioned he had a few frames. He may have what you need.

I see the PO kept the front dump exhaust when he added power steering. That is the second one I have seen.
Got the drivers side fender off and starting to look at how the steering is going to line up.
That is the transmission cooler...and yes it is to be replaced in do time. (y)
