This weekend I am planning on replacing my clutch assembly and I need to replace my rear main seal.

What is involved in replacing the rear main seal? Planning on removing the oil pan after I have removed the transmission and bellhousing for the clutch.

Any advice for the clutch replacement is welcome.

    Thanks - Tim

Note: I have the V6 engine.

You might get more replies in early forum.

I could say some general things, but I've never done this on a V6. It may be better to get the advice of some owners that have.

Thanks for moving it.....realized I was in wrong forum after I posted.
After work I am planning on tearing it down.
Planning to use engine hoist with floor panels removed to lower tranny and transfer case down. My floor jack is not working.
I did find a good article for the rear main seal in the tech articles here on ECJ5.com.

Still any clutch replacement advice is welcome.

Rear main: Buy the best seal you can. Take your time. Keep everything clean. It will take a few miles to seat itself.

Clutch: don't forget to replace the pilot bushing. There is a trick to that, pm or ask if you don't know.
And don't ignore your ring gear while your there. If it's even slightly worn it's worth replacing. A ring gear can be replaced without too much expense.
