    Hi folks,

A very good friend of mine just agreed to sell me his 1963 Tuxedo Park jeep. It is in extremely original condition. A little over 23K miles on it. Has not run since 1999 though, so I am taking my time to make sure everything is in good shape before starting it. Pink in color with a white grill and white soft top. Haven't seen too many pics of any on the internet.

Not sure how to post pics to the website here either...

That should be the TUX III. Upload your pics to somebody like photobucket then you can paste them here.

That is one pristine Tux. Looking at your stable of jeeps, I would say you know what you have there. :) Would like to see more pic's of the rear and the inside as well.

    Thanks folks!

It is pretty isn't it? I haven't been able to find a good pic of another one like it....

    23K original miles..

Starter is bad, and is getting rebuilt as we speak. Gas tank, fuel pump and lines have all been cleaned/blown out.
Bought new points, cap, rotor and condenser from Walcks, and hope to get her running by next week...

Taking my time and doing things by the book to get her running again.

Brakes are gone, so that will be next...pedal goes to the floor right now...

I'll see what I can do about posting more pics....

Thanks again....my wife loves this jeep, she is the one who talked me into getting it...She wants to drive it to the car shows with me next year..I guess she is tired of riding shotgun in my 55 M38A1..

    ;o)

You say tomato, I say pink tomato.....Haha!

Trying to fill the trans at the moment, hard to reach fill hole....was wondering if I could just fill through the empty hole where starter would have been??

It's Indian Red Ceramic and that's as manly as anyone could have made "pink." As for filling the trans, I bought a 1 gallon jug of gear lube at FLAPS and a plastic pump that screws on in place of the cap. Works great. Pump is reusable which is good, considering how most of these things bleed gear lube. Mine do anyway.

Nice looking Tux! Wow that's in good shape!

Here are some pictures of our '63 Tux Park.

This is what Indian Ceramic looks like after it fades.

As our signature says, ours has a Koenig Supercab on it. We've traced ownership back to the original owner and dealership and talked to folks in the town who remember seeing the original owner driving it. It's lived it's whole life within about 20 miles.

This picture shows the wheel well cushions that were a part of the Tuxedo Park package. The front seats have been recovered. I'm not sure if the back seat is original.

    Hope you enjoy your Tux!

    Very cool!!

We don't have the back seat in ours. The front seats are pink with black on top like yours.. We do have the pads for the rear wheel wells too. No hard top on ours though, that is really cool!!

Ours came from a country club originally, Hanson's Hotel and country club to be exact. On Oquaga lake in Central NY...
I am now the third owner of it.

    Neat jeeps...My wife loves it!

That's good. As you can see in our signature, this one is my wife's. She's proud of it and proud of her Jeep ownership. She's a teacher and her Jeep plays a prominent part in the poster she put together to help her students understand who she is and what her interests are. She tells her students stories and shares pictures of our Jeep travels.

We're putting new springs & shocks on it this winter and replacing a very loud intermediate shaft and bearings.

Thanks!! My wife has the idea of putting the pink breast cancer bows on it when we take it to shows...kind of draw attention to the cause, as well as enjoy the car show in her own classic jeep...

She's going to park it next to my 55 M38A1...Two vehicles that are so similar, yet so extremely different....

    ;o)

BTW, the fluid pump from NAPA is working very well Thanks for the suggestion!! ...filled the trans up with good gear oil. Now to do the pumpkins...

Flaps! Ha I get it now!!! I figured it had to be something like that...as I grew up in PA and never heard of store with that name!! Ha!

As for the rusted out hulks littering Central NY.....Yes most of my jeeps were used and abused by the farmers around here, and the salty roads certainly did a job on them as well. This Tux Park jeep, and a early 46 Column shift jeep I just bought are the best examples I have ever seen....Definitely better than anything else I have....
I got very lucky on this purchase, a good friend decided to sell off his collection and we were fortunate enough to be able to get the loan to buy them..

These jeeps are a great hobby, and my wife says they keep me out of trouble...
    Ha!
