Tank is a 35 gallon Horizontal Leg Tank, 29 inch long, 20 inch diameter, 5 inch fill opening. Weighs 350 pounds when full of water

Trailer is 1/2 CJ3 with can top. I was thinking just setting it in a roof rack mounted on the trailer but was concerned with high center and weight distribution. Any Ideas?

off road probably not a problem
driving down the highway is a different question

I have a tank like that and it has no baffles. I agree that it might cause a sway problem.

I can't help with the tank question but could you tell us a little about the trailer? It looks really cool!

I will try and post some better images once I figure out where to mount my tank but I really don't know much about it's history except that its been through Fordyce Creek Trail and the Rubicon. It has locking hubs on the axle so I can park and leave it on a hill. Interior is wood plank, built in lights. It has a 5 foot removable wood cutting board that attaches to either side of the trailer. The guy I got it from was upgrading, needing $ and I got it for a song.

What if I relocate the spare tire and fab the tank there?

Would sway decrease if I moved it slightly closer to the hitch?

Yes the lower and forward would help greatly. I was also thinking about poking a child's float that you can air up after inside, would reduce the sloshing and would not contaminate the water if used as potable.
