What is supposed to be #1 on the cap?

    Because of the firing pattern of the dauntless and unsure of the previous owners work, which is supposed to be #1?


    Got a my HEI in today, which is #1 on that?


    Did a lot of searching of the web, found the question a few times but no one really answered which one it is on the cap.

    On the points distributor, is it also the first one counter clockwise from the vacuum advance?

    WOW, after reading a few threads here, I don't feel bad about not knowing how to find #1. The distributor makes about as much sense as the drivers side cam chain tensioner.

    Still cannot find anything on the stock distributor.

    any post can be #1 on the original prestolite distributor. I managed to get mine running without a timming indicater by the fly wheel, but once I ordered on from rockauto I was finally able to acheive the "boucing the tach off of the 0" that i had heard the oddfire can do.
