Rockauto lists that one '68-71 F134 apps as well as an Airtex 572. Either will work but won't give you vacuum wipers.

I have one just like it that I used for a long time, then switched it out to go back to vacuum wipers.

If it's cheap go with it.

The only problem with using the fuel pump without the booster for the vacuum wipers is that when you step on the gas your wipers will slow way down. It might be a good excuse to convert to electric wipers. I went ahead and spent the extra for pump with the vacuum booster so I could keep my vacuum wipers. Even though vacuum wipers are rather useless, they are still kind of cool.

in the factory service manual there are 3 sentences that cover fuel pump servicing.

Bolt it in, connect the hoses, pour a little fuel down the carb if it's dry, and start it up. One wrench on a scale of five. A functioning fuel pump will prime itself just fine, unless there is a plugged line somewhere.

I had the hardest time getting a mechanical fuel pump to work after my engine rebuild. It turns out that the cam was ground too much on that lob. I went through 4 fuel pumps all different brands and none ever worked, Went to a electric for the same price as a mechanical.

I don't think you have this problem, but just throwing my experience out there

Bill did you figure out what happened to your fuel pump? Or, how did you fix it?

I replaced my fuel pump because a new one was pretty cheap and my Jeep has been sitting for ten years. My new pump isn't pumping and I can't really tell why. All of the lines are new and gas pours out of the bottom of the tank when I unhook the fuel line. I'm about ready to put the old pump back in!

Two things I'll ask about your fuel pump problems. Are you absolutely sure the lines are hooked up correctly, and if so do you have anything possibly loose where it will suck air in? That will keep it from sucking fuel.

I replaced the fuel pump on my girlfriends 2A with one from Jeep Doc and it would not prime for anything... I took it apart and I found it had NO check valves installed in it... the areas for them were there but they weren't even tapped. So just because you bought a new pump it doesn't mean it will work!

hmmmm.... I'm half tempted to put the old one back in, since there wasn't anything wrong with it ten years ago when it was parked.
Ok stupid question. The arrows on the puel pump indicate the direction of flow, right?

Usually there is the word "in" for the inlet side. Not sure about the arrows.

yes most times the arrows are for the flow of the pump

success!!!!! I took the fuel pump out and pumped it manually, and it pumped fine. I was baffled by this at first, because I couldn't get the darn jeep to start. Eventually, I realized all it needed was a little bit more gas and it roared to life!!!

Yup. EVERY time Old Bill started sputtering it was because there was a hose or fitting that worked loose.

Except that time the pump and the carb went out at the same time.
