Hi I want to share with you this brake conversion, it's a different option for those who can't find american parts as a donor. Last summer I done this work for a mate, he had many problems with the front brakes at the technical inspection (we have do it every 6 moths for legal imperative) so I built for him a disc brake conversion as I use in my jeep; this is for a 25/27 diff.

I use a Suzuki Vitara turbodiesel front rotors and calippers, and I build a custom plate to meet the calipers to the knuckle & spindle (now it's a good time to upgrade the spindle nuts). And finally I put shims between the custom plate and the caliper to allow center the caliper to the disc. You also can make it with a Suzuki Samurai donor, but calipers are a bit less powerful.

    Hope it helps for someone.

That is real nice - I had heard of the Susuki option, just never seen one.

I'm glad you liked, it's just an other different option. It's a shame picture's quality, but were took with an obsolete camera phone mobile.

As I run full floater rear diff. with hand brake on the wheels, I'm going to build a rear disc conversion using a custom plate, suzuki rotors and Audi A3/VW Golf rear calipers. Pictures cooming soon on my build thread.

    Hi!
I'm planning on doing this conversion the following week.
I'm going to use vented rotors and calipers from 2.0 V6 Vitara.
How thick metal did you use for the caliper bracket and also how thick was the sims that you used to center the caliper to rotor.

    Thanks!
