1955 CJ-5 Restore

    Again nothing really done, just thought i would update a little bit. Got most of my wiring done, Not to bad for a home made harness, color coding is a little bit off. Drove it around the yard, and up the road a little bit to check the speedo.

    Real nice looking Jeep. I see you have the same orangepeel paint job I have......just in a different color. Ha Ha I don't know, I kinda like the Pink. Or is that Lavender?

    Ya i thought about color sanding it but it's a jeep.

    I doubt it, he just keeps saying his looks better.

    Got some new tires from a fellow jeeper for free :beer:, tried to get a flex shot this is about all she has.

    Sitting in the garage waiting to put glass in the windshield frame. Waiting to I have the windshield on to put the hood on.

    Thanks, trust me yours looks just as good, nice hard top, I am beginning the search for one.

    Got some wood for the winter, so of course I had to crawl up it.

    Finally got the windshield done looks really great. (yes that is a rope holding it down hinges are being painted today.)

    Nice looking Jeep. You've done a great job. I'm in the process of rebuilding my 60 cj-5. Not sure what everyone else thinks but, I've been noticing your spring shackles and wonder if you might want to turn them around. Seems as though the shackle would be better suited if it had the latteral support the chaneled frame would provide. Just my 2 cents. Congrats.

    I don't think I fully understand what you mean, So flip the shackle so the shackle part is on the outside?

    Yeah that is what he is saying, that way when the shackle deflects it isnt forcing your frame to deflect with it.

    Yep, that's what I mean. I'm not trying to be a know-it all or tell you what to do. Just some friendly advice. Fantastic job on the jeep.
