will a new 3 core radiator be enough to cool a pretty much stock built 360 or do i need to get a 4 core? I will have a fan shroud on it.

A 3 core should be plenty, provided it's the same height & width as the stock radiator. Fan shrouds are great. I'm assuming you haven't added an air conditioner.

I had wanted to run a 4-row in mine, orderd in online, marketed as the "Heat-Buster". It came and only had 3 rows, but the were 3/4 inch instead of the usual 1/2 inch (equals 2.25 inches of tubing instead of 2 inches). Runs great with my 5.0 V-8,around 210 in the heat of the summer, just drove it to T or C this weekend and it never got over 200. Im not running a fan shroud, might add on later if heat becomes an issue.

So with a new radiator, fan & water pump you'll be in good shape.
Oh, I do recomend having a reputable radiator shop move the lover output an inch or so more inboard if there are possible clearance issues with the steering shaft, I had to do that with mine after the lower output breaking all the soldered joints from bumping.
