The column shift Tux will have a different dash mounting where the shift rod travels thru. Of course that is not to say the complete dash was not changed out. It's not likely however because if the owner was going to make that mod to floor shift, changing the originality, he probably wouldn't care about the extra hole in the dash. JMO. Walt.

Good to know! Thank you. When I tore down my Jeep, I never saw a spare hole in the dash, other than the hacked out radio hole next to the parking brake. The tranny hump looked like it belonged, ie. it wasn't modified or mangled, but that is not saying that it wasn't replaced either.

It was a second, smaller notch with the steering column notch, not a hole per se.

well, if the original poster ever returns, maybe we'll get to see some pics of his column shift V6.
I'd like to see the pics of his other Jeeps as well.
If they're all Tuxs that is.

Look under and see if you have the four bolts to mount them. Two in the floor up front and two more in the hat channel about 1-1/2" in from the outside edge.

Sorry everyone, I have gotten sidetracked on day to day stuff after the post, and unfortunately have not gotten to the stored 67 since we had snow here in Dallas (9"). But I will def. go see as soon as I can and take pictures. I live in a neighborhood, and the city (as well as my wife) will only let me store two here, which are a 64 Tux and 53 Willys Truck. I also have another 64 that just came down from MI, a 65 CJ6 at a friends, a 65 that I still need to pick up from NC, a 50 something CJ6 (not tux). Anyway, about 9 total of which 7 are Tuxedo's. Again, if anyone knows of any parts or Jeeps, I'm always looking just send me a PM.

Also, does anyone have some guidance on replacement tires that can be found that look like the original. Most pictures in books are not correct, but the brochures and postcards on eBay are original and all show some kind of wide whitewall snow tire. I have talked to local tire shops and they all say to go to a specialty tire place. Outfitting 7 tuxedos with tires from a specialty tire place would cost a fortune.

I believe that. All the old ads show hub caps, I said stock b/c it looks like there was a 16" in that time era. But, like other parts it's probally mix matched. I never seen 15" written down. Thats good info.

I see where it says trim rings, but if you look at some of the old advertisements they were one piece hubcaps, not dog bowl type with trim ring. The front ones are really tough to find since they had the hub cut out.
