There are some lists on parts peculiar to Tuxedo Park Jeeps (I think mostly the Mark IV), but I have been wondering if some of those may not have been reused from other models. Anyone that knows something about Jeeps (Willys, Kaiser, etc.) would surely agree that the company had ways to utilize parts and min. waste. Case in point was the hoods with snorkel cut-out, which are rumored to have been left over from an overproduction of M38 (at least that is what I have heard several times). So how about the 3 on the tree shifter, standard on Tuxedo's, could they have come from maybe the Aero which was still being produced in Brazil (I believe) during the early 60's? The 60/40 seats were also used in other company models and so are not nec. "peculiar" to a "tux". I'm not sure about he tailight or license plate holder, but pretty sure that one exception (to other models) were the hubcaps. A lot of hubcaps on Tuxedo's shown in pictures are not the ones that were available. If you look at some of the old catalogs and pictures, you can see that they were one piece with little "dashes" around the perimeter. Obviously, the front had cut-outs for the hubs. "Liking" Tuxedo's seems to be an acquired taste, with most not trading anymore than regular CJ5's. Anyway, if you have any thought or comments please let me know. I collect Tuxedo's and have about 7 so far with only the 66 model missing in the set. I restore them to their original condition and also welcome leads to parts or jeeps.

The hood cutout was indeed left over from the M38A1.
The column shift wasn't "standard" on the Tux.

The V6 models didn't have a column shift, as the T86 wasn't built in a remote/ side shift configuration that I know of.
    My Dad's was a floor shift/ T86/ V6 model.

So is it a T86? Or T14? I don't recall the T14 having the castings to accomodate side shift.
I'd like to see some pics out of curiosity.

Would there even be enough room for the column shift mechanism on the engine side of the firewall with a V6 installed?

I would have wondered, but the OP has a V6 column shift apparently. I'd like to see pics. I'm always up for seeing/ learning something I wasn't aware of.

just for clarification, the T90, T86 and T14 were made in side shift form.
Not all were used in CJs though.

My first '66 CJ5 Tux that I bought used in '68 had a V6, bucket seats and floor shift. Of course the first thing I did was to throw away the chrome hub caps and replace the chrome bumper. Chrome on a Jeep? R)

I've been looking at the same thing in regards to the hub caps. My rims are a stock 16". The hub caps that cover the whole wheel are all for 15" from what I've seen so far (I've spent alot of time looking for bigger hub caps). I'm pretty sure the larger 16" + wheel used the "center cap" style hub caps. That is just my theory. Hoping someone else can 2nd that or clear that up about the hubcaps.

    Poorhouse,

According to my parts book (Revised 9/66), it only list: Kit, trim rings (15" wheel) for a CJ5A and CJ6A. Not sure if they made 16" hub caps. Do your 16" rims have hub cap bumps?

    Anyone else know?

I cannot verify that my '65 Tux was originally a column shift or not. I did notice a pin at the top of the column that appears to have been a mounting point for one, but it did not look used. (Of course, it could have been painted over also). When I purchased mine, it had the floor shift, bench seats, chrome at the right places and the seat pads mounted on the rear fenderwells. Oh yeah, it had the original 134F that was blown and replaced by a P.O.
