I put a small body lift on my rig. Adout 3/4-1" over stock. I have repaired the floor and really don't want to cut the floor. I want to wheel my rig in the rocks. I'm thinkin that moving my pedal assembly up into the frame to match the body would be trick. The distance is easy to determine. Doing the pedals is easy, but what about the clutch linkage and brake master cylinder? Has anybody tried this?

Maybe check out Advance Adapter. They use to have a chain clutch linkage. Don't know if they still do but heard it worked good.

Now that I think about it. My T98 trans is not at stock height relative to the frame that was never built for that trans. The threaded hole for the clutch is in the t-case adapter plate on the back of the trans.

I am just going to pull the body off, roll up my sleeves and fab my way out of this.

I just thought it would be nice to build a bracket for the rear pivot on the linkage that is strong enough to eliminate the support on the drive-line. I'm thinkin sealed bearings from a bicycle head-set.

What model of jeep ? What frame ?
I take it you have an F-134 / T-98 combo ? What size and make of clutch ?
As you know the stock clutch control lever and tube assembly specifications are variable,
depanding specifically upon the combination of mated components.

    Happy wrenching....

Im pretty much the king of building things with bicycle parts and iv never seen sealed bearings in a bicycle. If you make it removable so it can be greesed once in a while it should be ok. Id just build somthing like it with real sealed bearings though

The brake rod from the petal to master cylinder would need to be relatively straight so as to not bind. My CJ2A has a plate welded on the inside of the frame sort of like boxing the frame. If you don't have this already couldn't you get a plate measure for the master cylinder holes and weld it in place. As for the clutch linkage I just replaced my clutch rod with a threaded shaft and clevis ends.

My threaded rod has been shortened and re positioned to mate up with the MC which is a dual res. With some somewhat intense fabrication it could be done I believe.Custom MC mount, new brake lines, longer clutch rod (links the pedal to the bell crank at the transmission) and with that you could in theory french em up.
Or do like I did, and just take a rasp to the floor just enough to make them work... 5 minutes and if you put the correct boots in you never know theyr'e there.

Just to throw it out, wouldn't it be just as easy to put swing pedals in? If you're going to redo all the mounts, why not just move everything to the fire wall, then everything is up and out of the way. A hyd. clutch is easy to come up with and power brakes could be added easily if wanted.
