I've read that those are a good upgrade. I put one of their "stereo" consoles in the M715 and it's great. This is the console with a spot to mount a radio or CB into it. Very good quality and very rugged.

Pat: Been looking at those, but I don't know if they have the same hinge bolt pattern as the early 5's. They say it fits '76 to '83. :(

Let me know if you find out.

I saw that too about the years. I sent an email to Krage. I'll let you know when he gets back to me.

Gary from Krage got back to me-

    Hi Patrick,

The 76-86 Tuffy glove box (#TUF-03501) will fit your/any older CJ dash but the box dimension is smaller than your original to allow for the heater assembly. In other words, it will fit your dash and work just fine but it's a smaller (shallower) box than the original and you won't be able to fit as much inside. Thanks for writing!

I think I'll order one later today. I can deal with the smaller dimensions. I don't keep much inthere anyway.

Pat: Is Krage the cheapest you've found. A lot of places sell them. What's the price on them.

I'm still sort of skeptical, as the pic shows the hinges mounting on the inside. My '68 has them mounted on the outside and under the dash on the lip of the dash itself.

I'll let you be the "guinney pig". R)

    Let us know.

    Thanks.

    $89.95.

I'll let you know. Just ordered it. Gary said he doesn't stock them, but can have them in a few days. Should be on the doorstep in 10 days. Fingers crossed.

    Well? Is it here yet?
I've used the Tuffy console and under hood box and have been very happy with both.

Just put one of these glove boxes in a couple of days ago..... took 15 minutes. (about one beer worth)

yes to smaller, but in an open vehicle it's the only thing I have to keep anything secure......

    enjoy....

I have the Tuffy glove box in my CJ-7 and like it very much. Great place to keep papers concerning the Jeep and other small items I want locked up. Like it enough that I plan on putting one in my CJ-6 when the rebuild gets to that point.

UPS just dropped it off yesterday. Hoping to get installed today or tomorrow. A bit small, but will do just fine. I'll post pics when it's done.
