How does the factory flatty roll bar mount inside the jeep? Does anyone by chance have a pic of theres?
I got a bar over the weekend and it just doesnt seem to sit in the tub right.

Ok after searching (which i didnt think anyone else had this problem before) I found most of my answers. Are you guys bolting them on the outside of the tub also?

    I don't think you're gonna get corrected.

There was a factory rollbar offered for a CJ 5, any chance you purchased one of those? Someone could have altered it to fit the inside tub width of a flattie.. If it has a peice of angle iron it would sit on top of your rear fenderwell and bolts would go through the outside of you tub and through the angle iron. If you are installing this for safety make sure it is not made of exhaust tubing or some thin metal that would not withstand a rollover. Good luck

    :iagree:

not factory, never had one off the floor room, if you are not looking for original i suggest tying into the frame or secure very very well to body... just my .02

I have a rollbar from a late CJ-5 in my flattie, I had to remove the top bow pockets from the top of the wheelhouses to make it fit. I bolted the angle-iron base to the tops of the wheel houses and also used the factory torx bolts to bolt it through the side panels. I tlooks liek it really belongs there!

Custom Cage in mine - I like them bolted to the body and not tied to the frame...
Nope not opening that can o worms...

Anyhow - just make sure the plates on the oposite side of the body are different size so it does not act like a shear.

I used a CJ5 roll bar that had flat plate along the bottom. I bolted it though the fender wells with heavy reinforcement.

i used a stock cj5 roll bar and tied it into the frame rolled it twice so far and no major damage ,my budy had his atatched to the wheel houses and it really tweaked his body the 1st time he sided it if you want a good looking bar mount it to the wheel houses oyherwise run some angle on the botom side of the wheel house ant some.120 wall 1 1/2 tubing to the frame its a lot safer but if its a street truck either way works[IMG]just my opinion ive see alot of rollovers go bad
